I never really dared to give up everything and just leave. I always thought that stability is the most important part of my life. I wanted to have a good job, a career. I wanted to have enough savings for the old age, a house, some investments, and I always wish to be near to my families.
However, I am no longer on the same page, and I believe I should take advantage of the time I have now. I must take chances before it may be too late, there is no better day than today to start living out my dreams.
I quit my job, with a lot of pain in my heart, because I truly love what I’m doing and I love the people I work with. I am often the only woman in the group, and I enjoyed the “bro” bonds with each and every one of them. After two decades, it’s hard to say goodbye.
My first stop would be Italy in February. Nicky and I plan on getting to Venice Carnival which will be held in a week’s time. I thought of buying costumes and masks from the online website, but Nicky said the costumes are not authentic. So, I do hope that I could rent something in Italy, in my size. If not, someone will get pinched.
February is also a month of hearts, love, and valentines. And in the town of Romeo and Juliet – Verona, the streets in the city center will be decorated with red hearts. That’s a place to witness the love and fascinating warm atmosphere. I’m so excited!
I hope to attend the Italian language school, and then discover more parts of beautiful Italy, before moving on to other parts of Europe. I have always wanted to visit Ireland, and from there repeat my visit to Scotland. Despite the cold weather, Scotland is very beautiful. I want to come back to the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.
I hope I would be able to visit my dream destinations. I am so fortunate that I can go almost anywhere with my Singapore passport without a visa. Of all my dream destinations, I only need a visa for Pakistan and Russia, and visa on arrival for few others.
I am keeping my options open, I don’t know where I will be and how long I will go. But I will always come back to visit my close-knit families. They are everything to me.
